Answer from the Chief Executive Officer: Before responding the question, it is important to underline that Council is yet to formally consider any proposal to change the municipal boundary while noting that it has requested the Minister to consider if a municipal boundary change is warranted. That said, I can advise that the Chief Executive Officers of the Borough of Queenscliffe and City of Greater Geelong met early this week to consider the some of the likely implications of a possible change to the respective municipal boundaries. Officers are yet to fully assess the information relayed by the City of Greater Geelong and have requested additional advice from the City of Greater Geelong. Officers have not briefed the Council on the outcomes of the meeting. Council officers will turn their attention to this during January and February 2017 and then brief the Borough Council on their assessment of the implications of such a change.
