Councillors in June unanimously voted to investigate the merits of a National Heritage Listing for
the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. Given the imminent deadline for this application to be lodged, can
Council DETAIL what, if any investigations/discussions have been carried out and their findings?

PLCA notes that council is about to go to tender to appoint a consultant to prepare the economic development strategy and that it intends to nominate TEDAC as the Reference group.

On reading the documents and being aware of the potential for conflicts of interest
PLCA asks for council to modify the brief to:-

*         mandate the establishment of its very own, first, community based project reference group reflecting the diversity of community opinions as an integral element of this project

*         broaden the focus to enable the opportunity to explore options not necessarily limited to accommodation?

*         limit the role of TEDAC (an advisory group to council with similar status as the Finance Committee)to one position or fulfil the role of the CEO's steering / advisory group.

*         not proceed until a revised brief is agreed.
