Response by Mayor Tony Francis I suggest that this request is referred to the agenda item 8.2 Motion Number 2017/576 Queenscliffe Lighthouse Reserve. Further response by Cr Bob Merriman With respect to the request made by the PLCA it is clear that there are key common points of interest that we share. Fulfilling our legal and community obligations is paramount. In drafting my motion I want it to be clear that Council is demonstrating its willingness to examine alternative sites for the eco-cabins. There is no rush, my focus is getting it right. I therefore put forward my original motion as it appears on page 8 of the agenda. ***************************************************************** Response by General Manager Planning & Infrastructure Advice received from the contractor on 12 September indicated that there has been a delay in asphalting works resulting from bad weather. The completion date is now expected to be end of November. *************************************************************************************************************** Response by the CEO: Council officers have prepared a research paper that has been the subject of a confidential Assembly meeting workshop with the Council. This agenda item will be considered by Council at its October 2017 Ordinary Meeting. Significant illness contributed to this 4 week delay. In relation to the formation of a panel, this authority rests with the Minister for Local Government and the Minister is yet to receive formal feedback from the Borough of Queenscliffe Council so this has not occurred at this time.
