The General Manager Planning & Infrastructure answered that construction works on the Bellarine Highway and their impact on the road must meet Vic Roads requirements as the responsible authority, including maintaining access for emergency vehicles. While Council has been advised of the works being undertaken, no traffic surveys were provided. Council has raised this matter with Vic Roads in the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee Meeting held last Thursday and formalised this discussion in correspondence to VicRoads expressing a level of concern regarding road widths and line markings on the temporary arrangements possibly leading to confusion. To the best of Council’s knowledge, there is no outflow monitoring data from the construction zone to Lakers Cutting publically available.
